Reopening Message

The Litchfield History Museum, the Tapping Reeve House and Litchfield Law School, and the Helga J. Ingraham Memorial Library will reopen to the public on Thursday, June 24th, 2021. Please see our new hours for each site below.

Safety Policies

In order to protect our patrons, volunteers, and staff, we will continue to take precautions against the spread of COVID-19. These precautions include:

  • Asking visitors to wear a face covering while inside the museum
  • Offering hand sanitizer stations at entrances, exits, and throughout the museum
  • Limiting museum capacity to facilitate social-distancing
  • Increasing the frequency of cleaning high-touch areas such as door handles, restrooms, and payment stations.

If you feel sick, have experienced a fever, have exhibited symptoms of COVID-19, or have been exposed to people who tested positive for COVID-19, please do no visit the Litchfield Historical Society at this time.

Parking

For either building, cars and vans may park along the street or in the municipal lot located halfway down the street behind the block of brick commercial buildings across from the Museum. Bus parking is available behind one of the churches on South Street (just a few buildings south of the Museum).There is parking along the street and behind the Tapping Reeve House & Litchfield Law School.
