Biographical Notes:
Jonathan Walter Edwards, Jr. was the son of Jonathan Walter Edwards and Elizabeth Tryon. He graduated from Yale in 1819 and then studied law under Judge Swift in Windham, CT, was admitted to the bar and practiced in Hartford for several years. In 1830 he moved to Cuba, but returned to Hartford at the death of his father in 1831. In 1835 he was appointed Judge of Probate for the District of Hartford. In 1838 he moved to Troy, NY and was mayor of that city. He was also a member of the state legislature in New York, He relocated to New Haven and died there in 1875.
