Biographical Notes:
Reverend Benjamin Pomeroy was born on November 11, 1704. He was close friends with Eleazar Wheelock, founder of Dartmouth College. They shared radical religious views as New Light Congregationalists. Reverend Pomeroy helped run Wheelock's Moor's Indian Charity School and had his children attend. He married Wheelock's sister, Abigail and had three children.

He served in the army during the French and Indian War, and American Revolution.
