John Van Deusen Reed, son of Helen Van Deusen Reed and Almet Reed, was born April 26, 1838 in New York. He married Marie Louise Mitchell of New York, and together the couple had three children. John passed away on January 26, 1892 in Paris, France. His wife passed away two months later.
