- Valentine Workshops

Workshop participants will be inspired by examples of Victorian-era Valentines from the collection of the Society’s Ingraham Memorial Library. All ages are invited to participate in these sessions which are held on the Tuesday and Thursday the week before Valentine’s Day. Call for times and specific information.

- Turn of the Century Fest
Join the town of Litchfield to celebrate our nation’s independence from Great Britain. Meet
at the East Cemetery at 8:30am to commemorate two local American heroes in a program
sponsored by the Daughters of the American evolution and the Sons of the American Revolution. Later in the day, the Litchfield Artillery will fire three reproduction cannons prior to the nationwide ringing of the bells at 2 pm. The Litchfield Historical Society will hold its annual Pet Parade and Turn of the Century Fest beginning at 2:15 pm. Pets of any kind are welcome. The actual parade will commence at 2:30. The afternoon will conclude with old-fashioned games and an ice cream social hosted by the Society.

- Summer Series
The 23nd annual Summer Series is held on select Wednesdays in July and provides the local community with free performances by local artists, puppeteers and entertainers.

- Borough Days
The 16th annual Borough Days is scheduled for September. Step back in time to the days when Litchfield was a main stagecoach stop and storytelling was a popular form of entertainment. Underwritten by Litchfield Bancorp, the day is a celebration of our history and will feature demonstrations ranging from blacksmithing to pottery making as well as a Civil War encampment.

- Holiday Open House

The Historical Society participates in the town of Litchfield's Annual Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting. Activities going on around town include ice carving, horse and carriage rides, the chance to meet 'the man in red' and ornament making. The Historical Society will hold its Holiday Ornament Wokshop and provide participants with an opportunity to create historic ornaments and a chance to try fun contemporary varieties. The Museum Shop will also be open for Litchfield memorabilia, old-time toys, books and crafts by local Litchfield artisans.
