Landscape, View from Chestnut Hill
Adelaide Deming
Litchfield, Connecticut, c. 1920
Oil on canvas
Bequest of Miss Charlotte Deming

Like many of Deming's paintings, this view from Chestnut Hill contains bold shades of violet, green and blue. While the artist experimented with many painting techniques, she remained loyal throughout her career to this use of color.
