About Research Requests

RESEARCH REQUESTS MAY be sent to the Ingraham Memorial Library. The fee for an initial search of the collections is $25.00, and this fee includes 10 black & white photocopies. Additional photocopies are 25¢ per page.

Research requests are handled in order of receipt. Please allow six to eight weeks for a reply. Additional time and fees will be required for extensive or very time consuming work. The staff will send notification if this is the case.

The research fees assist the Ingraham Memorial Library with the costs of making the resources available and of preserving them for future generations.

Official birth, death, and marriage records, as well as land and probate records, are located in the town halls of each town. Information on contacting town halls can also be found in the Guide to Local Resources. Vital records are NOT in the collection of the Historical Society.
