David Goodrich was born on November 7, 1773 to Elizur and Penelope Holcomb Goodrich of Chatham, Connecticut. In September of 1803 David married Hilpah Hays of Granby, Connecticut. During their marriage the couple resided at 1 Barn Door Hills Road in Granby, and had three children.
