Biographical Notes:
Harriet Engisn Morse, daughter of Jesse Engisn and Electa Goodwin Ensign of Litchfield, Connecticut, was born January 4, 1802. It is believed that Harriet may have attended Sarah Pierce's Female Academy in the early nineteenth century. On October 21, 1845 Harriet married Harley Morse, a farmer and cheese maker, of Litchfield, Connecticut. Harriet passed away on April 28, 1889.
