Biographical Notes:
Lucy Hall Boardman, daughter of Richard and Mary Beech Hall, was born in Poland, Ohio on November 19, 1819. On July 28, 1857 she wed William Whiting Boardman of Connecticut. After William's death in 1871, Lucy distributed most of his fortune in works of public charity. Among her objects of benevolence was the building of the Boardman Memorial School at New Haven, a manual training school, and also a scientific building for Yale College as a memorial to her uncle, Dr. Jared Potter Kirtland.

Lucy and William had no children.
