Biographical Notes:
Samuel S. Starkweather was born in Connecticut. He practiced law in Cooperstown, NY. He married Marcia Averell in 1814 with whom he had two children. In 1815, he was a trustee of the Otsego Cotton Manufactory. In 1818 he was Ensign in the Otsego County regiment. He resigned in 1820 as the Adjutant of the 2nd regiment. He died at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law in Bronx, NY.
