Description:
Seven bound volumes of handwritten law lectures given by Tapping Reeve at the Litchfield Law School. The notes were taken down by Aaron Burr Reeve, only son of Tapping Reeve. The lectures are written on the right hand pages, with the left hand pages usually left blank and headed "Remarks." Volumes 1 and 2, as well as 4 through 7 contain Aaron Burr Reeve's autograph. Volume 3 contains the autograph of Tapping Reeve, and several of the volumes contain annotations by Tapping Reeve. Tradition states that Tapping Reeve used these notebooks in his lectures during the last years of his teaching.

Volume 1 contains a "List of subscription papers" in Tapping Reeve's handwriting at the end of the volume. The names of several former students appear on the list, including Nathan Smith, Thomas Day, ...
