of the architecture and landscape. The colonial revival interest in
the towns 18th and early 19th century
architecture eventually prompted the establishment of a historic district
in the center of Litchfield.

and people with weekend homes. Many old Litchfield families remain.
As in most of todays small towns, the majority of young people
