Description: Come by to learn all about our upcoming exhibit, America’s Pastimes: Sports and Recreation in Litchfield, opening April 2016. Our curator of collections will be on hand to discuss his research and the exhibit planning process, and to talk with you about your own experiences as an athlete, a fan, a coach, an enthusiast, or just an occasional participant. Visitors can also see a preview of the exhibit, with items and images from the museum collection and some of those already submitted by community members on display. We will also be previewing some preliminary designs and exhibit ideas to get your feedback. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own sports and recreation objects, images, and stories to share with the Historical Society. Stories and images will be featured within the exhibit or online via our website or social media; objects can be accepted as temporary loans to be photographed and considered for physical use in the exhibit. America’s Pastimes will feature sports and recreational activities from all eras and all skill levels. No submission is too big or too small. It is our goal to make this exhibit as community-focused as possible. Help us tell your stories! Snow date: January 30
