Description: Part of the Law in the Hills: Litchfield Courthouse, Celebrated Cases, and Legal Leading Lights lecture series. Former Appellate Court Judge Anne Dranginis will be discussing the life and legacy of civil rights attorney Catherine Roraback. Catherine Roraback was one of the few women practicing law in Connecticut courts in the ‘60s and ‘70s, and focused much of her career on civil liberties. She was a lawyer in the pivotal case Griswold v. Connecticut, and defended of one of the accused in the New Haven Black Panthers Trial. This lecture series is cosponsored by the Litchfield County Bar Association.
