Description: Join us for our installment of the popular annual lecture series! Litchfield is well known for its two pioneering 18th-century schools, but did you know that it also championed progressive education in the early 20th century? Dorothy Bull and Mabel Foster Spinney founded Spring Hill School, operating from 1926 to 1939. The student newspaper included works by young Peter Seeger, who would later gain renown as a folk singer. Come learn about the philosophy of the school and view photographs of the students and examples of their work. Bring your lunch! Desserts and beverages will be served.
