Description: In conjunction with our current sports exhibit, America’s Pastimes: Sports and Recreation in Litchfield, Lucianne Lavin, Director of Research and Collections at the Institute for American Indian Studies, will be presenting on Native American sports and recreation. Dr. Lavin, author of Connecticut’s Indigenous Peoples: What Archaeology, History and Oral Traditions Teach Us about their Communities and Cultures, is an anthropologist & archaeologist who has over 40 years of research and field experience in Northeastern archaeology and anthropology. The Institute for American Indian Studies is a museum and research and educational center in Washington, CT.
