Description: House of the Wannsee Conference - a German Holocaust Memorial

Hans -Christian Jasch, Director of the House of the Wannsee Conference Memorial and Educational Site, will be speaking on the history of the Wannsee Conference and the transformation of the site into a place of memory and learning.

On January 20, 1942, a meeting was held in Berlin by senior officials of Nazi Germany to organize the deportation and murder European Jews. 50 years after planning “the final solution to the Jewish question,” the house that hosted the Wannsee Conference was opened as a German holocaust memorial and center to promote education on democracy and civil rights. Dr. Jasch will provide insight into the work the museum does today.

The talk will be followed by a reception.
