Description: Race down to the Litchfield Historical Society this August for a series of mini-adventures inspired by our newest exhibit: America’s Pastimes: Sports and Recreation in Litchfield. Each week will focus on a different aspect of sports history and will include games to get you moving, creative crafts to take home, and historic connections to explore!

Helmets, Hats, and More – Explore the different headwear of athletes as you play classic hat games and design your own hat!

Friday, August 5th, 10:00-11:30 - Lawn Games New and Old - Take part in all your favorite colonial lawn games and design your own game!

Tuesday, August 9th, 1:00-2:30 - Helmets, Hats, and More – Explore the different headwear of athletes as you play classic hat games and design your own hat!

Friday, August 19th, 10:00-11:30 - The Physics of Sports – Momentum, mass, velocity…Study the science of sport through games, experiments, and hands-on crafts.

Tuesday, August 23rd, 1:00-2:30 - Three Cheers for the Home Team –Let’s hear it for the fans! Show your spirit by learning historic chants and creating your own team flair.
