Description: Tennis has always been more than “just a game.” A social pursuit that men and women can partake in equally, one’s success on court—or in the public eye—can be linked to what a person chooses to wear on court. Nicole Markham, curator at the Tennis Hall of Fame, will present the evolution of tennis from a leisurely activity played on the estate lawns of the wealthy in the late 19th century to the professional sport with world-wide appeal it is today through its champions and their fashion choices.
