Brief Description: The Mrs. E.S. Downes album (1923-32-0) is a collection of pressed algae that was given from Mrs. E.S. Downes to Mrs. H.W. Buel (Catharine Laidlaw Buel) on October 5, 1874. The album contains eight samples of pressed algae in various colors and is titled "American Algae or, Flowers of the Sea."
