Brief Description: A small notebook of handwritten sermons on The Commandments attributed to Rev. Davies and a published booklet "Biographical sketch of the Rev. Thomas Davies, A.M.: missionary of the Society for Propagating the Gospel in Foreign Parts, in several of the town of Litchfield County, Conn., from the year 1766" by a minister of the county. Published in New Haven by Stanley & Chapin, 1843.  Davies was born in 1736/37 in Herefordshire, England, emigrated to Litchfield, CT in 1745, graduated from Yale in 1758, and was ordained a minister by the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1761, afterwards he returned to Connecticut to become a missionary in Litchfield County.  He married Mary Hervey of Sharon and had two children (William b. 1763 and Charlotte b. 1765) before dying in New Milford in 1766.
