Brief Description: Correspondence regarding Samuel Thompson's patent for compounding and mixing medicines for various ailments. Included is a letter from John Q. Adams, U.S. Secretary of State, certifying that it is a true copy of the patent. William Wirt, Attorney General, certifies that the patent was delivered to him on 28 Jan. 1823 and it conforms to the law.
